How much is the Azerbaijan e visa?
On the official portal evisa.gov.az, the standard e visa costs USD 29 per person. This is made of two parts: a USD 20 state fee and a USD 9 service fee for the ASAN Visa system.
The fee is the same for every eligible nationality and every purpose, whether you come for tourism, a family visit or business meetings. Every traveller gets their own e visa, so in a family application you see the total for everyone on the payment page.
There is no cheaper or more expensive version for different purposes, and there is no separate fee for choosing a purpose. What changes the price is only the speed you pick: standard or urgent. If you have at least 3 working days before your flight, the standard option is enough for most travellers.
| Option | Official fee | Issued within |
|---|---|---|
| Standard e visa | USD 29 (USD 20 state fee + USD 9 service fee) | 3 working days |
| Urgent e visa | USD 50 state fee plus the service fee, about USD 59; the form shows the exact total | 3 hours, also on holidays |
How much is the urgent e visa?
The urgent e visa is issued within 3 hours, also on weekends and holidays. The portal does not publish its total price on the information pages; it shows the amount inside the application form before you pay. Azerbaijani embassy pages (for example in The Hague and Tehran) give the urgent state fee as USD 50, and the service fee comes on top, so expect about USD 59 in total. The form shows the exact amount before you pay.
Choose urgent only when you really need it, for example if you fly in less than 3 working days. Apply at least 3 hours before arrival.
Is the e visa fee refundable?
No. The official conditions say fees are not refunded. This includes cases where the visa is refused, or where it is issued with a mistake you made in your name, date of birth or passport number. If you need a corrected visa, you pay again.
That is why it is worth checking every field slowly before paying. Our step by step guide lists the checks.
A refused e visa is not refunded. Read why e visas get refused before you apply, so you do not pay twice.
How to pay
- Payment is online by bank card at the end of the form.
- Accepted cards: Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay and JCB.
- The card does not have to be in the applicant's name, so a relative or company can pay.
- Your bank may add a foreign transaction or currency fee. That is set by your bank, not by Azerbaijan.
Why some websites charge much more
Search results show many sites with names close to the official one. Some are travel agencies that file the visa for you; others only look official. Agency prices for the same standard e visa are often between about USD 65 and USD 91, which is two or three times the official USD 29.
Using an agency is legal, but you should know what you pay for. A fair service shows the official fee and its own fee separately. The only official address is evisa.gov.az, ending in .gov.az.
Before you pay any site, look for three things: the address ends in .gov.az if it claims to be the government, the official fee is shown separately from the service fee, and the company tells you who it is and how to contact it. If any of these is missing, close the page and go to evisa.gov.az yourself.
Official fee vs the Sroky visa service
You can always apply alone on evisa.gov.az and pay only the official fee. If you want help, the Sroky app can file it for you. Sroky is a private company, not the government, and the government decides on every visa.
For its fee, the Sroky team checks your details against your passport page, sends you a payment link, files the application on evisa.gov.az, and emails you the visa when it is ready. In the app you can then save the visa and get reminders before your registration deadline and your last day of stay.
| Standard | Urgent | |
|---|---|---|
| Official fee (paid to the government) | USD 29 | Shown in the official form |
| Sroky service fee | USD 39 | USD 69 |
| Total with Sroky | USD 68 | Official urgent fee + USD 69 |
| Refund if late | Official fee never refunded | Sroky refunds its own fee if an urgent visa misses the window |
Embassy visa fees, for comparison
If you cannot use the e visa, you apply at an Azerbaijani embassy. The state fee in law is USD 20 for a single entry or transit visa and USD 350 for a multiple entry visa. It is charged per person and is not refunded. Embassies may add their own service charges, so check with the embassy. Business, work and study visas usually also need an invitation, which costs the inviting company a 4 AZN state fee. See embassy visas for the full process.
Other costs to plan for
The visa is not the only cost of a trip. A few others are worth knowing before you travel, so nothing surprises you at the border or later.
- Address registration after 15 days is free. Hotels and landlords usually do it for you.
- Overstaying or not registering can cost a fine of 300 to 400 AZN, and an unpaid fine can block your next entry.
- If you stay longer for work, study or family, the temporary residence permit has its own state fee. See the residence permit guide.
- A corrected e visa after a typing mistake means paying the full fee again.
