Azerbaijan E-Visa Application: Step by Step Guide for 2026

The e visa is for citizens of 87 countries and for short visits of up to 30 days. First check that your passport is on the list and that you do not already enter visa free. The free visa checker gives you the answer in a few seconds, and the official list is on evisa.gov.az/en/countries.

If you have two nationalities, apply with the passport you will travel on. An e visa on a different passport is not valid at the border.

Think about your purpose before you open the form. The purpose you choose is printed in the system and border officers check that it fits your trip. If you come to study or to live with family, the purpose also matters later for your residence permit.

• A passport valid at least 3 months after the e visa ends. The visa is valid 90 days, so a passport valid 6 months or more from your application date is the safe choice.
• A clear colour scan or photo of the passport photo page. If the system cannot read it, the visa is refused.
• A working email address. The visa is sent there.
• Your arrival date and the purpose of your trip.
• Your address in Azerbaijan, for example the hotel name.
• A Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay or JCB card. It does not have to be in your name.

   Open the official site

   Type evisa.gov.az yourself. The official address ends in .gov.az. Many lookalike sites exist and charge two or three times more.

   Choose the application type

   Pick individual for one person, family for 2 to 10 people, or group for 10 to 300 people. A child written in a parent's passport still needs their own data in the application.

   Choose your country, arrival date and speed

   Select your citizenship and the date you plan to arrive. Choose standard (within 3 working days) or urgent (within 3 hours, also on holidays).

   Fill in your personal details

   Enter your names, birth date, passport number and dates exactly as they appear in your passport. Choose the purpose that matches your trip, such as Tourism, Personal trip, Business or Education.

   Upload your passport page

   Upload the scan of the photo page. Make sure all four corners are visible, there is no glare, and the two lines of letters at the bottom can be read.

   Check everything and pay

   Read every field again before you pay. The fee is not refunded, even if the visa is refused because of a typo. Pay by card on the payment page.

   Get your visa by email

   The e visa arrives as a PDF by email, and you can also download it on the portal. Check the names and passport number on it the moment it arrives.

   Print it and travel

   Print the visa on A4 paper and keep it with your passport. Show both at the border. You enter once and can stay up to 30 days.

Working days do not include weekends and public holidays in Azerbaijan, so leave extra time around them. See e visa fees for what each option costs.

• Open the PDF and compare your name, birth date and passport number with your passport. A visa with a data error is not refunded.
• Print it on A4 paper and keep a copy on your phone.
• Your 30 days start on the day you enter. Plan your departure before the last day.
• If you hold more than one e visa, leave the country on the one you entered with.
• If you stay more than 15 days at one address, make sure your hotel, landlord or host registers you.
• A new e visa can only be requested after you leave Azerbaijan.
