Azerbaijan residence permit: Invited specialist or highly skilled migrant
A company invited you as a specialist, or the state approved you as a highly skilled migrant. Digital nomads join this ground from 1 January 2027.

- Who it is for
- A company invited you as a specialist, or the state approved you as a highly skilled migrant. Digital nomads join this ground from 1 January 2027.
- What proves it
- The invitation, or the approval under the highly skilled migrant programme. Digital nomads will need proof of income from abroad.
- How long
- Up to 1 year first and 2 years per extension for an invited specialist. Up to 3 years each time for a highly skilled migrant, and for a digital nomad from 1 January 2027.
- State fee
- For one year AZN 120 (20 working days) or AZN 160 (15 working days). Two years AZN 240 or 320.
- Permanent residence
- Counts. After 2 continuous years on this ground you can apply for permanent residence.
Good to know: Highly skilled migrants need no work permit and are not held to the 90 days in 180 rule.
