Who this guide is for
Baku is home to many people who are not Azerbaijani citizens: Indian and Pakistani students, Turkish engineers, Chinese and Egyptian workers, Central Asian families and more. Many of these passports are on the UK visa national list, so their holders need a visa before they travel to the United Kingdom, wherever they live.
If you are an Azerbaijani citizen, read UK visa for Azerbaijani citizens instead. If your passport can use the UK ETA, for example a German, American or Saudi passport, read the UK ETA guide: you do not need a visa for a short visit.
| Your passport (examples) | What you need for a UK visit | Official fee |

| Türkiye, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia | Standard Visitor visa | GBP 135 |
| Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan | Standard Visitor visa | GBP 135 |
| China (not Hong Kong or Macao passports), Indonesia, Philippines | Standard Visitor visa | GBP 135 |
| Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria, Iraq, Jordan | Standard Visitor visa | GBP 135 |
| EU countries, USA, Canada, Gulf states, Malaysia | UK ETA, not a visa | GBP 20 |
Checked on the GOV.UK visa national list in November 2026. Rules change, so confirm your nationality with the official visa checker before you apply.
UK visitor visa fees
The fee is paid online to the UK government when you apply and is not refunded if you are refused. Each family member needs their own application, fee and appointment. Most visa application centres offer a free appointment; some locations charge for standard slots, and optional extras at the centre are paid to the centre, not to the UK government.
| Option | Official UK fee | What it gives you |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Visitor visa | GBP 135 | Up to 6 months |
| Long term visit visa, 2 years | GBP 506 | Many visits, up to 6 months each |
| Long term visit visa, 5 years | GBP 903 | Many visits, up to 6 months each |
| Long term visit visa, 10 years | GBP 1,128 | Many visits, up to 6 months each |
| Priority decision, where offered | GBP 500 extra | Faster decision |
| Super priority decision, where offered | GBP 1,000 extra | Decision usually by the next working day |
Documents for foreigners living in Azerbaijan
The officer must be sure that you will leave the UK at the end of your visit, that you can pay for it, and that you are not trying to live there. For someone who lives in Azerbaijan but is not a citizen, the key extra point is your right to live here and your life in Baku.
- A passport valid for your whole stay, and old passports with past visas.
- Your Azerbaijani temporary or permanent residence permit, valid beyond your return date. See the residence permit guide if yours expires soon.
- A letter from your employer in Azerbaijan with your job, salary and approved leave, or a letter from your university if you study.
- Bank statements for the last months, with your salary payments visible.
- Your travel plan: dates, hotel or host address, and return ticket booking if you have one.
- An invitation letter and a copy of the host's UK status if you visit family or friends.
- Translations into English of any document in Azerbaijani, Russian or another language.
If your residence permit is being renewed, apply for the UK visa only when you have the new card, or explain the renewal clearly with the ASAN or migration service receipt.

Let Sroky prepare and file it for you (coming soon)
Sroky is adding a UK Standard Visitor visa service to the app. For a Sroky fee of USD 300, we check your eligibility and documents, fill in the GOV.UK application with your answers, write a cover letter and document list, help book the visa centre appointment, check your pack before the appointment and follow up until the decision.
The official UK visa fee, and any priority fee you choose, is paid separately and shown as its own line. You attend the biometrics appointment in person, and you read and confirm every answer, because the applicant stays responsible for the application. Sroky is a private company, not the UK government, and cannot influence the decision. You can always apply alone on GOV.UK for the official fee only.
Sroky's paid services are not available to residents of Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria or Russia.
Common reasons for refusal
A refusal letter lists the reasons. Fix them before you apply again; a new application with the same papers usually gets the same result. Read visa refusal reasons for more.
- A residence permit that ends soon after the trip, so ties to Azerbaijan look weak.
- Large cash deposits shortly before applying, with no clear source.
- A trip cost that does not fit the income shown.
- Missing or unclear invitation details for a family visit.
- Not mentioning a past refusal for the UK or another country.
Let Sroky file your e visa
Check your passport for free, fill in the application in the app and we file it on the official portal. You pay our fee and the official fee as separate lines.
