Check before you travel

  • ETIAS start date: official pages (home-affairs.ec.europa.eu Smart Borders, read 4 Nov 2026) say not in operation and no date set. The earlier 'last quarter of 2026' wording could not be read on travel-europe.europa.eu (browser access to that site was not permitted); treat the launch as unannounced.
  • EUR-Lex consolidated text read is version 30.12.2025 (latest amendment Regulation (EU) 2025/2441, revised suspension mechanism). No 2026 consolidated version was checked; any 2026 implementing act suspending a whole nationality would need a re-check.
  • home-affairs.ec.europa.eu still says the Vanuatu visa waiver 'has been suspended'; the consolidated regulation shows Vanuatu moved to Annex I (visa required). Both lead to visa required.
  • ETIAS validity (3 years) is from the ETIAS Regulation, not re read on travel-europe.europa.eu this session.
  • Children under 6 visa fee exemption: from Visa Code Art. 16; the Commission page shows EUR 90 / EUR 45 only.
  • Individual national airport transit visa lists (beyond Annex IV) not included; see the Commission list of individual ATV requirements.
